Secure by default
Every DomainDock domain is served over https:// with a valid certificate, the padlock your visitors expect. Visiting the plain http:// address forwards to the secure https:// version.
How it works
Certificates are issued and renewed automatically for every address on digitalweb.host, so a new domain is secure the moment it goes live and there's nothing to maintain.
Your server doesn't need a certificate
The secure connection your visitors see ends at DomainDock. DomainDock then connects to your app over HTTPS if it supports it, or plain HTTP otherwise, detected when you add the domain. That means an app on a bare IP and port works without any certificate setup on your side.
If your app does use HTTPS, its certificate must be valid for the address you entered. The connection test tells you if it's expired, self-signed, or issued for a different name.
The "Enable SSL" option
Enable SSL (HTTPS) is always checked in the add-domain form and can't be turned off, every domain is served over HTTPS. Hover over it for a reminder.
